Privacy policy
Effective 23 October 2026
The short version
Your photos never leave your phone. Shrink has no server, no account and no sign in. The free version shows ads, and the companies that serve those ads, and the stores that handle Pro, collect some data as described below.
Who we are
This policy covers the Shrink app on iPhone and Android and the website shrinkfy.com. For any privacy question, write to [email protected].
Your photos
Shrink asks for access to your photo library so you can choose photos, and to save the results. Every photo is compressed, resized, cropped or converted on your device. Photos are never uploaded to us or to anyone else, and we never see them. Photos you send to Shrink from another app's share button are handled the same way.
Shrink keeps your settings and a list of recent batches on your device so you can see what you did. This stays on the phone and is removed when you delete the app.
Ads
The free version shows a banner and one short video ad per batch. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may also fill them through Meta Audience Network and Liftoff Monetize. To show ads, measure them and limit fraud, these companies may collect:
- your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iPhone, Advertising ID on Android), where you allow it;
- your IP address and the approximate location that comes from it;
- device and app information, such as model, operating system, language and app version;
- how you interact with the ads.
In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, Shrink shows Google's consent message before personalised ads, and you can change your choice at any time under Settings, Privacy options. On iPhone, Shrink asks for permission to track through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you decline, ads are not personalised with your advertising identifier. You can also reset or limit your advertising identifier in your phone's settings.
Each company handles this data under its own policy: Google, Meta and Liftoff. Shrink Pro removes all ads.
Shrink Pro purchases
Payments are made through the App Store or Google Play. We never see your card or payment details. We use RevenueCat to check whether you have Pro: it receives your store purchase record and an anonymous ID created by the app, never your name or email. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
What we do not do
- We do not collect your name, email, contacts or photos.
- We do not use analytics or crash-reporting tools in the app.
- We do not sell your personal information.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California), you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data, and you can object to personalised advertising. Because we hold no personal data of our own, the quickest routes are: Settings, Privacy options in Shrink for ad consent; your phone's settings for the advertising identifier; and the ad and purchase companies above for data they hold. We will gladly help with any request sent to our email.
Children
Shrink is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
This website
shrinkfy.com uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you view; see how Google uses this data. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, analytics cookies are off until you choose Accept in the cookie banner; to change your choice, clear this site's data in your browser and the banner returns. You can also block it with your browser's cookie settings or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. The photo you compress on the home page is processed in your browser and is not sent anywhere. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which keeps standard server logs.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
